Emirates Nature-WWF seeks a Stakeholder Engagement Officer to serve as primary liaison for the IHYAA' programme, focusing on fisheries restoration, ghost gear prevention, and marine conservation.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with fishermen, community leaders, cooperatives, and local authorities
- Act as day to day focal point for stakeholder engagement activities in Umm Al Quwain and other emirates
- Support coordination with federal and local government entities, including environmental and fisheries authorities
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, consultations, and community events
- Engage directly with fishing communities to collect local ecological knowledge and support project implementation
- Support awareness campaigns related to ghost gear, sustainable fisheries, marine conservation, and circular economy
- Maintain records of engagement activities and stakeholder feedback
- Assist in developing Arabic language materials and stakeholder communications
Requirements
- UAE National
- 2–5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, government relations, or project coordination
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Communications, or related field preferred
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
- Willingness to travel regularly and spend time in the field

Job Summary
- The Officer Stakeholder Engagement will serve as the primary liaison between Emirates Nature–WWF and key stakeholders involved in the IHYAA' programme.
- The role will place emphasis on stakeholder management, government liaison, and fisheries sector engagement.
Major Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fishermen, community leaders, cooperatives, and local authorities.
- Act as day to day focal point for stakeholder engagement activities in Umm Al Quwain and other emirates.
- Support coordination with federal and local government entities.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, consultations, and community events.
- Engage directly with fishing communities to collect local ecological knowledge.
- Support awareness campaigns related to ghost gear, sustainable fisheries, marine conservation.
- Identify community champions and support their participation.
- Support planning and delivery of field activities, stakeholder meetings, training sessions.
- Maintain records of engagement activities and stakeholder feedback.
- Assist in developing Arabic language materials and stakeholder communications.
Requirements
- UAE National (required).
- 2–5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, government relations, or project coordination.
- Experience working with local communities, government entities, NGOs, or environmental programmes is an advantage.
- Familiarity with UAE government structures and stakeholder engagement processes is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Emirati culture and local community dynamics.
- Willingness to travel regularly and spend time in the field.
