Requirements
- Post secondary degree in Nursing
- Two years' experience in Occupational Health Nursing required, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
- Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health Nursing or Public/Community Health Nursing preferred
- Certified in Occupational Health Nursing Canada (COHN C) preferred
- Knowledge of NS Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations

Responsibilities
- Conduct pre placement health screenings.
- Provide health education and injury prevention strategies.
- Provide health promotion programs such as annual Influenza immunization campaign.
- Conduct health surveillance programs.
- Provide communicable disease follow up and education.
- Provide blood & body fluid exposure follow up and education.
About You
- Post secondary degree in Nursing.
- Two years’ experience in Occupational Health Nursing required.
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses.
- Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health Nursing or Public/Community Health Nursing preferred.
- Certified in Occupational Health Nursing Canada (COHN C) preferred.
- Knowledge of NS Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations.
- Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to develop and provide teaching programs.
- Demonstrated case management skills.
- Experience performing delegated medical acts and administering medications/immunizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Compensation and Benefits
- $45.93 $54.97 Hourly.
- $56.90 hourly with 25 years of nursing experience.
- Eligible for benefits package including health, dental, travel, long term disability, life insurance, and defined benefit pension plan.
Hours
- Long assignment full time position; 75 hours biweekly.
- Approximately 12 months.
- Travel to various sites may be required.
