Role Overview
CTREL manages the end-to-end real estate lifecycle for more than 1,800 retail and corporate locations across Canada.
The Occupancy Cost Manager helps control and reduce occupancy costs across a large national retail portfolio.
The role partners with landlords and internal finance, legal, accounting, development, and construction teams.
Responsibilities
- Audit CAM invoices, Rental Adjustment Notices, percentage rent calculations, and other landlord statements for lease compliance.
- Analyze monthly rent-roll variances, explain significant variances, and identify corrections.
- Manage invoice workflows and review income tenant billings when applicable to maximize tenant revenue.
- Oversee Occupancy Administrators, approve their daily work, and provide mentorship.
- Validate landlord name and banking-information change requests.
- Use Lucernex reporting to identify savings and lead special projects.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of lease or occupancy cost administration experience, preferably in retail real estate.
- Post-secondary education in real estate or facilities, business, or finance and accounting.
- Ability to interpret leases, audit landlord billings, and deliver measurable occupancy cost savings.
