Job Summary

The employer is seeking an experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with subspecialty training in urogynaecology.

The role focuses on pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, complex urogynecological conditions, and general obstetric and gynaecological services.

The position is described as being with a healthcare facility in Al Ain and involves compassionate, patient-centered multidisciplinary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladder, voiding dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infections, and pelvic floor dysfunction.
  • Perform urodynamic testing, cystoscopy, and pelvic floor evaluations.
  • Provide conservative and surgical management of pelvic floor disorders.
  • Perform prolapse repair, mid-urethral sling procedures, pelvic reconstructive surgery, and indicated hysterectomy procedures.
  • Deliver outpatient consultations and inpatient obstetric and general gynaecological care.
  • Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
  • Counsel patients about treatment options, surgical risks, recovery, and long-term management.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists, urologists, colorectal surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists.
  • Maintain clinical documentation according to hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement, audits, teaching, research, and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Fellowship or formal subspecialty training in Urogynaecology or Pelvic Floor Reconstruction is mandatory.
  • Western-trained education and/or clinical experience is mandatory.
  • At least 5 years of post-specialization experience as a Consultant with significant urogynaecology experience.
  • Eligibility for or possession of a valid DOH Consultant license is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced pelvic floor surgery and complex urogynecological disorders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care is required.
