As a Nurse Practitioner within Correctional Health Services, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient‑centered care through an innovative virtual care model, with opportunities to provide on‑site clinics as needed. This role offers a unique blend of flexibility and impact, allowing you to manage a diverse and complex patient population, support chronic disease management, mental health care, and acute concerns, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams. You will practice to your full scope in a secure, supportive environment while helping to advance access to timely, equitable healthcare for individuals in custody.
Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Must be located within close proximity to one of the ten Provincial Correctional Centre's.
