Job Summary

  • Under the direction of the Supervisor – Nuclear Medicine, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform operational activities pertaining to Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging services, ensuring high quality, cost effective service delivery.

Job Responsibilities 1

  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging workload, ensuring necessary patient care.
  • Ensures systems and standards that promote patient safety and safe practices are adhered to.
  • Provides modality expertise and assists in maintenance and development of services.
  • Works independently, performs all routine and specialized procedures.
  • Prepares, dispenses, and administers radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Acts independently in assessment of referrals, reducing unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Participates in standby and on call roster systems.
  • Provides support and relief for Department supervisor as required.
  • Supports Supervisor to manage and maintain high level of expertise and reduce faults.
  • Adheres to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities 2

  • Adheres to and promotes compliance with radiation safety and protection policies.
  • Implements directed change for continual improvement.
  • Maintains accurate and concise records of all imaging.
  • Involved in training and development of new employees.
  • Participates in quality improvement programs and competency assessment.
  • Participates in mandatory training and professional development.
  • Monitors and maintains stock levels for consumables.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Communicates mission, ethics, and goals of the facility.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Attends divisional and other meetings as appropriate.
  • Adheres to Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Extensive functional knowledge and clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular imaging
  • Knowledge and experience of RIS and PACS
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Ability to be flexible and organized
  • Attention to detail
  • Tact, sympathy when dealing with patients and relatives
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

Job Experience

  • Overseas candidates: Minimum 3 years Clinical Nuclear Medicine experience in a recognized hospital/healthcare facility (may include 1 year clinical internship, plus 1 year post graduate clinical experience).
  • For Qatari Nationals, Qatar Universities graduates, offspring of Qatari women or offspring of residents, to refer to the DHP Circular No.24/2020
  • Equipment selection and procurement (preferred).
