Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Project Manager) who excels in field execution, works as an invested owner, and partners closely with operations, maintenance, technical services, HSE, and other departments to deliver safe, practical, fit ‑ for ‑ purpose projects.

Responsibilities
Spend significant time in the field during planning, construction, commissioning, and handover to fully understand site conditions and ensure safe, efficient, and practical project execution
Lead field engineering activities, verify design alignment with real‑world conditions, support construction teams, and proactively address issues before they impact scope, schedule, or cost
Develop project execution plan and build owner’s team with necessary resources
Drive projects from concept through closeout
Oversee project execution, both in the field and in the office, ensuring strong visibility, alignment, and communication with construction teams, contractors, and operational stakeholders
Supervise, mentor and train subordinate project engineers, define clear objectives and expectations of direct reports, evaluate performance, provide verbal and written feedback on career growth, and encourage innovative thinking and process improvement
Develop proposals and cost estimates, including required equipment, materials, personnel, and other peripheral services
Represent stakeholder interests in the field during execution and ensure clear communication between engineering teams, contractors, and site departments

Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects and manage projects within the constraints of time, cost, and scope, and report any significant deviations including proposed countermeasures
Confirm engineering specifications and criteria comply with applicable regulatory and corporate codes, practices, policies, standards, and specifications
Interface with environmental department to ensure all permitting is in place to prevent delays to construction, commissioning, and operation of project
Prepare capital allocation requests including all required supporting documentation, and champion the project to seek approval and funding
Maintain accurate records of committed, expended, and forecast costs associated with the project against the approved budget
Perform risk and consequences analysis for projects to help understand both risks and opportunities that may occur during each project phase
Oversee quality control tasks against budgets, schedules, plans, and how to produce project status reports for distribution
Develop procurement specifications for equipment and work scopes for engineering, procurement, and construction bid packages
Effectively communicate with members of the project team and collaborate with stakeholders to adopt the most cost effective and efficient practices
Provide technical review for procurement tender and award activities
Create and/or update standard operating procedures and asset management tactics, and how the process is used to provide training to operating personnel during commissioning and start-up
Develop framework to measure a project's metrics to monitor performance, and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly data reconciliation and analytics reporting
Ensure all project control procedures are implemented and validated through regular field engagement, progress tracking, and coordination with cross ‑ functional project participants
Preform other duties as required
Qualifications
B.S. degree in Engineering or related field and/or 10+ year’s experience directly managing contractor work in the field required
Demonstrated experience working in field-based environments such as construction sites, industrial facilities, or mining operations required
8 or more years of project planning and project management experience with demonstrated competency in project execution, project management, construction, commissioning, and handover preferred
Experience leading teams of Engineers, Field Staff, and Contractors required
Proficient working in field environments for extended periods, including regular walkdowns, construction oversight, and commissioning support preferred
Knowledge of contract and contractor management practices required
Knowledge of applicable engineering and peripheral codes, policies, standards, and best practices preferred
Demonstrated computer literacy and practical application of MS Office products including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint required
Familiarity with design, and scheduling software preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and multi ‑ disciplinary teams required
