Job Summary
- We are looking for an experienced L2 Network Support Engineer to provide on site network operations, infrastructure support, firewall administration, Wi Fi management, and incident resolution for our client’s IT environment.
- The ideal candidate should have strong hands on experience in LAN/WAN, switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, VLANs, IP addressing, wireless networks, and network monitoring. Experience with Fortinet firewall will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Operations & Support: Provide Level 2 support for network related incidents and service requests; troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity issues; monitor network performance; ensure uptime across client sites; escalate complex issues to L3 or vendor support.
- Network Infrastructure Management: Configure and manage switches, routers, and firewalls; support VLAN configuration, IP addressing, and routing requirements; maintain structured cabling records; update network documentation; assist in network expansion, upgrades, and infrastructure improvement acti
- Firewall & Network Security: Manage firewall rules, NAT policies, and basic security configurations; support SSL VPN and IPsec VPN setup for remote users; monitor network security; respond to threats or vulnerabilities; ensure compliance with client’s IT security policies.
- Wireless Network Management: Manage and troubleshoot enterprise Wi Fi networks; configure SSIDs, access controls, and guest networks; support wireless optimization to improve coverage, performance, and stability.
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Use network monitoring tools to track network health and performance; analyze logs and alerts; proactively resolve issues; maintain incident records; prepare RCA reports for major or recurring incidents.
- User & IT Support Coordination: Coordinate with internal IT team and L1 support team to resolve user level network issues efficiently; assist in onboarding and offboarding activities related to network access, VPN access, and user connectivity.
- Vendor & ISP Coordination: Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and service providers for link issues, hardware faults, escalations, and service restoration; follow up on SLAs and ensure timely resolution of network related issues.
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnetting, and routing concepts
- LAN, WAN, Wi Fi, VPN, and internet troubleshooting
- Firewall administration, preferably Fortinet
- SSL VPN and IPsec VPN configuration
- Switches and routers such as Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, or similar
- Network monitoring tools and log analysis
- Network security best practices
- Structured cabling and network documentation
- Incident handling, escalation, and RCA preparation
