Role overview
DWP Digital is recruiting a Network Operations Engineer for a high-performing Network Operations Centre.
The role supports a large-scale, multi-vendor network estate and critical digital services used by millions of citizens.
The position requires Security Check clearance.
Core responsibilities
- Operate live network services and manage monitoring, incidents, problems, changes and service optimisation.
- Support data centre networking, hybrid cloud, firewalls, load balancing and PKI services.
- Work with engineering, architecture, security teams and suppliers on service delivery and modernisation.
- Drive automation, observability, performance tuning, reliability and continuous improvement.
Essential experience
- Experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-scale on-premises and cloud network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, encryption and authentication in live environments.
- Experience with third-line support, ITSM incident and problem management, root-cause analysis and service improvement.
- Strong TCP/IP, routing, IP services and complex troubleshooting knowledge.
