Responsibilities
- Capacity Planning & Demand Forecasting
- Conduct periodic capacity assessments across WAN, Internet, MPLS.
- Analyze utilization trends and forecast future bandwidth requirements based on business growth and technology adoption.
- Recommend capacity augmentation, optimization, and technology refresh strategies.
- New Business & Site Onboarding
- Lead telecom readiness for new business launches, office expansions, relocations, and site setup initiatives.
- Manage end-to-end telecom provisioning, including bandwidth planning, circuit ordering, commissioning, and testing.
- Coordinate with telecom providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery service aligned with project timelines.
- Support infrastructure integration for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic business initiatives.
- Resiliency, Redundancy & SPOF Elimination
- Work with Service provider to mitigate the Single points of failure across telecom infrastructure, service providers, PoPs, and last-mile connectivity.
- Design and recommend resilient network architectures with adequate redundancy and failover mechanisms.
- Ensure business-critical locations have appropriate telecom diversity and backup connectivity.
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Telecom Optimization & Cost Management
- Drive bandwidth right-sizing, circuit rationalization, and utilization optimization initiatives.
- Perform billing validation, contract compliance reviews, and telecom expense management.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and performance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and telecom procurement activities.
- ISP / Provider Governance & SLA Management
- Manage relationships with ISPs, telecom carriers, and managed service providers.
- Conduct periodic SLA, KPI, and performance reviews with telecom partners.
- Drive escalation management and ensure timely resolution of chronic service issues.
- Ensure providers meet contractual commitments, service obligations, and delivery timelines.
- Documentation, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain accurate telecom inventory, network diagrams, circuit database, provider contacts, and SOPs.
- Publish periodic reports on capacity, performance, incidents, risks, cost optimization initiatives, and service health.
- Provide executive-level updates and recommendations to management and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic objectives.
- Basic knowledge of LAN/ WAN & Telecom Technologies
- LAN, WAN, WLAN, Campus and Branch Network Architecture.
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, QoS, VLANs, Subnetting, Routing and Switching concepts.
- Network availability, redundancy, load balancing, and high-availability design principles.
- MPLS, Internet, DIA, Broadband, P2P, IPLC, and Ethernet services.
- Last-mile technologies and telecom provider ecosystems.
- Carrier diversity, circuit commissioning, testing, and lifecycle management.
- Network Monitoring & Analytics
- Experience with Network Monitoring Systems (NMS), performance monitoring, and capacity reporting tools.
- Ability to interpret utilization, latency, packet loss, and availability metrics.
- Experience with tools such as Spectrum, SolarWinds, PRTG, or equivalent.
- Reporting & Tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data analysis/reporting.
- Working knowledge of ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
- Ability to develop dashboards, capacity reports, and executive summaries.
