Network Developer 2

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Develop and implement standalone test cases and test strategies.
• Guide junior engineers in developing robust testing protocols.
• Provide break-fix validation support and conduct post-event root cause analysis.
• Conduct L1 network change reviews and communicate changes for change management review boards.
• Run tests and verify that systems meet compliance and readiness criteria.
• Gather GRC data and improve scripts to streamline data collection.

Monitoring and Reliability

• Interpret dashboards, telemetry, and alerting metrics to monitor network health and service level objectives.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems for detecting and diagnosing network anomalies.
• Participate in operational support rotations, incident response, and root cause investigations.
• Implement tools and solutions for frontline support teams responding to network failures.

Collaboration and Leadership

• Collaborate with project and program managers to achieve test and deployment milestones.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and act as a subject matter expert for routine issues.
• Contribute to customer incident response and root cause analysis documentation.
• Participate in roadmap and software architecture discussions and collaborate with vendors and internal teams on networking standards.

Performance and Capacity

• Analyze network performance and service metrics such as latency, throughput, and packet loss.
• Use security and performance metrics and capacity information to support anticipated infrastructure growth.

Core Work Practices

• Track timelines, prioritize work, and adjust execution as resources or timelines change.
• Troubleshoot standard and non-standard errors using data from multiple sources and escalate issues as needed.
• Learn new skills and tools, apply feedback, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
