Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver undergraduate-level instruction within the Marine Transportation Department.
- Teach Nautical Science courses which may include: Introduction to Nautical Science Basic & Advanced Firefighting Terrestrial Navigation I & II Integrated Navigation I, II & III Introduction to Navigation Law Ship Construction and Stability Liquid Cargo Operations Dry Cargo Operations Maritime Communications I & II Maritime Regulatory Environment

- Terrestrial Navigation I & II
- Integrated Navigation I, II & III
- Introduction to Navigation Law
- Ship Construction and Stability
- Liquid Cargo Operations
- Dry Cargo Operations
- Maritime Communications I & II
- Maritime Regulatory Environment
- Provide academic mentoring and guidance to Midshipmen.
- Conduct course-level assessment activities and maintain academic records.
- Participate in scholarly activities, faculty committees, and institutional service assignments.
- Develop course materials and manage classroom instruction in accordance with accreditation standards and Academy policies.
- Submit mid-term and final grades using the Academy's electronic grading system.
- Maintain weekly student office hours and support student success initiatives.
- Report directly to the Department Head of Marine Transportation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marine Transportation or a related field.
- Practical experience as a licensed deck officer.
- Current U.S. Coast Guard License as Second Mate, Unlimited Tonnage , or higher.
- Current STCW credential as amended under the International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
