National Sea Logistics Healthcare and Perishables Manager

The National Sea Logistics Healthcare and Perishables Manager is responsible for leading and growing Kuehne+Nagel's U.S. Reefer Perishables and Healthcare services, driving business development, customer experience, operational excellence, and overall profitability. This role oversees the Perishables Development and Reefer Trade teams, while serving as a key partner in supporting Healthcare Key Account Management (KAM) and Global Key Account Management (GKAM) initiatives. The position plays a critical role in tender management, quality compliance, staff development, and customer satisfaction, collaborating closely with global counterparts to deliver industry-leading solutions and service excellence across the perishable and healthcare logistics sectors. The National Sea Logistics Perishables Manager also ensures adherence to healthcare quality standards, training requirements, and applicable Good Practice (GxP) guidelines to support the safe and compliant movement of sensitive cargo.

Lead the growth and development of Kuehne+Nagel's U.S. Perishables and Healthcare Sea Logistics portfolio.

Partner with commercial teams to identify new business opportunities, expand existing customer relationships, and support tender activities to drive revenue growth.

Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that meet customer needs and industry requirements.

Champion a customer-centric approach by driving service excellence, quality standards, and operational performance across Perishables and Healthcare services.

Work closely with operational teams to ensure the reliable and compliant movement of temperature-sensitive and healthcare shipments.

Support Healthcare Key Account Management (KAM) and Global Key Account Management (GKAM) initiatives to deliver consistent customer experiences and long-term customer satisfaction.

Ensure adherence to healthcare quality standards, training requirements, and applicable GxP guidelines, including awareness of WHO, GDP, GSDP, and related industry standards.

Drive overall business profitability and financial performance through effective pricing, bid management, and commercial decision-making.

Monitor KPIs, revenue growth, and business results while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, optimize costs, and support sustainable business growth.

10+ years of Sea Logistics and freight forwarding experience.

Expertise in healthcare, reefer, or perishable logistics sectors.

Proven success developing growth strategies, leading complex commercial opportunities, and delivering tailored logistics solutions for strategic customers.

Experience supporting RFQs, tenders, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and complex customer solutions.

Track record of managing business performance, profitability, or financial objectives.

Strong leadership capability in guiding teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders within a matrix organization.

Deep understanding of healthcare logistics requirements, including GDP, GxP, and temperature-controlled supply chains.

Ability to build executive-level customer relationships and champion the voice of the customer, turning strategic opportunities into momentum and results across the organization.

Strategic mindset with a track record of identifying market opportunities and influencing business direction.

Willingness to travel 20-30%.
