Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a national go to market plan for BESS targeting priority segments
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline and sales forecast to meet or exceed annual targets
- Lead end to end commercial processes: opportunity qualification, value proposition development, proposal preparation, and contract negotiation
- Monitor federal and provincial energy policies and incentives affecting BESS deployment
- Establish and nurture relationships with key external stakeholders: C&I customers, authorities, and suppliers
- Track and report sales metrics to senior leadership
- Share leads internally with the team for effective execution
- Participate in industry events and working groups to generate leads
Requirements
- Degree in electrical, power, sustainable/renewable energy systems or related field
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in BESS/Solar/EV markets or related energy sector business development
- Demonstrated track record of winning BESS or energy project contracts and managing complex sales cycles
- Strong understanding of BESS technology
- Familiarity with Canadian federal/provincial incentive programs
- Excellent financial acumen and experience building business cases
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Eligible to work in Canada and willing to travel as needed
- Bilingual (English/French) nice to have
- Existing relationships with large C&I customers nice to have

Role Overview
- We are seeking a National Business Development Manager, BESS to grow our Battery Energy Storage Systems business across Canada.
- This is a national role requiring travel to customer sites and offices; can work at Vancouver/Mississauga/Montreal locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a pragmatic, high impact national go to market plan for BESS.
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline and sales forecast; concentrate on highest value opportunities.
- Lead end to end commercial processes: qualification, value proposition, proposal, contract negotiation.
- Monitor federal and provincial energy policies and incentives affecting BESS deployment.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key external stakeholders: C&I customers, authorities, suppliers.
- Track and report sales metrics (revenue, margin, pipeline value, bookings) to senior leadership.
- Share leads internally with the team for effective execution.
- Participate in industry events and working groups to generate leads.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in a related field (electrical, power, sustainable/renewable energy systems).
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in BESS/Solar/EV markets or related energy sector business development.
- Demonstrated track record of winning BESS or energy project contracts and managing complex sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of BESS technology.
- Familiarity with Canadian federal/provincial incentive programs.
- Strategic thinker with ability to prioritize opportunities.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience building business cases.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized, self motivated, able to drive complex deals to close.
