N8n Engineer

As Astera, we are looking for an

n8n Automation Engineer

for a full-time, onsite position in

, on behalf of our client.

The role will be responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade workflow automations for HR lifecycle processes.

We are seeking candidates with strong hands-on experience in

n8n workflow orchestration, API integrations, business rule-based automation, approval routing, exception handling, auditability, and secure handling of enterprise data

.

Role summary:

The n8n Automation Engineer will

design, build, test, deploy, and maintain

production-grade workflow automations for

HR lifecycle processes

.

The role will focus on

n8n

workflow orchestration, enterprise API integration, business rule execution, approval routing, exception handling, auditability, and integration of approved AI services into business

workflows.

1.

Design, build, test, and maintain production-grade n8n workflows for HR lifecycle processes, including eligibility validation, approval routing, service-level agreement monitoring, document handling, notification triggers, and exception management

2.

Implement workflow-level business rule validation based on business approved HR policies, eligibility criteria, and governance controls

3.

Integrate n8n workflows with

, backend services,

databases, and approved government or enterprise systems

4.

Configure webhooks, scheduled triggers, event-based workflows, conditional branches, retries, fallbacks, escalations, and exception paths

5.

Implement workflow audit logging, execution traceability, structured error handling, and retry mechanisms for critical workflow steps

6.

Manage workflow testing, versioning, deployment, and change control across development, testing, staging, and production environments

7.

Integrate approved AI/LLM services into workflows where required, including calling AI agent APIs, passing workflow context, handling AI responses, and routing exceptions

8.

Build workflow test cases covering standard paths, exception paths, failed integrations, approval rejections, policy validation failures, and edge cases

9.

Support secure credential handling, API authentication, and least-privilege access patterns withinn8n workflows

10.

Work with the AI/ML Engineer, Integration Engineer, Oracle HCM Technical Developer, Solution Architect, and HR/L&D Functional Consultant to translate approved business logic into reliable workflow automations

11.

Support production troubleshooting, defect resolution, workflow optimization, and performance tuning

12.

Participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, defect triage, user acceptance testing support, and production readiness activities
