Role Overview

The Munitions Controller plans, schedules, and monitors War Reserve Materiel munitions maintenance, inspections, resources, and facilities.

The role oversees command-and-control actions for explosive operations and uses TICMS and MC2 for asset status and scheduling.

Planning and Scheduling

  • Oversee routine and contingency planning, workload, and production scheduling for the Munitions Department.
  • Prepare annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly munitions maintenance and inspection forecasts and schedules.
  • Manage awaiting maintenance, awaiting parts, and TCTO programs and coordinate requirements with maintenance and supply stakeholders.
  • Maintain delayed discrepancy files and coordinate ADR status and disposal or shipment schedules.

Operations and Coordination

  • Monitor facilities, equipment, vehicles, munitions resources, capabilities, and limitations that may affect mission accomplishment.
  • Coordinate workload planning and support with the AEW Munitions Flight and attend required planning and reconciliation meetings.
  • Track explosive-operation progress and maintain workforce status.
  • Notify supporting activities before hazardous operations, evacuation drills, or fire drills.

Control and Compliance

  • Manage keys and locks for munitions structures in accordance with AFMAN 21-200.
  • Maintain emergency action check sheets for war, crash, fire, severe weather, and explosive-mishap scenarios.
  • Notify the Fire Department about qualifying explosive movements or changes to magazine hazard symbols and document the notification.
  • Manage MSA Owner/User responsibilities under DAFI 31-101 and perform entry-controller duties as required.
  • Perform required TICMS actions using the Receiver role and ensure documents follow routing procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply, TMO, Munitions, and Tech Order systems or a US Service equivalent.
  • Intermediate knowledge of munitions control and scheduling processes and procedures.
  • Intermediate ability to adapt to stress and communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency with computers, Windows, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Four years of experience with military munitions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship is required for this clearance.
  • Valid home-country driver's license and ability to obtain a host-nation driver's license.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally and perform required physical duties, including lifting, pushing, or pulling at least 50 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Work occurs in office, maintenance shop, or warehouse environments and may require extended outdoor work.
  • Stand-by duties and additional hours may be required during peacetime and combat contingencies.
  • Required personal protective equipment must be worn according to prescribed procedures.

Quality and Reporting

Ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Consolidate recurring report data and prepare submissions for the Munitions Superintendent.
