Millwright - Apprentice

Qualifications

• Essential Job Functions
• General Duties
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance tasks on pipe coating equipment and controls, material handling and storage equipment, and other plant systems.
• Operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, and welders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set up of machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical related machine problems and work with maintenance and production team members to ensure up-time and limit downtime.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Ability to participate as needed in the installation of entirely new or relocated lines regarding piping, air equipment, water, and hydraulics.
• Work in a team environment and follow all health and safety regulations.
• Participate in safety/toolbox meetings.
• Participate in on-the-job training and any additional training.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in assigned work area.
• Other duties as required.

• Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, equipment, and procedures utilized with pipe
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions which are applicable to the work.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Physical Demands
• Raise/lower or move objects horizontally.
• Frequent wrist/hand motions.
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
• Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
• Ability to work in extreme weather.
• Work Environment
• Active industrial shop with exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and heavy machinery.
