The Position
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a major gold mill expansion project increasing processing capacity from 11,000 TPD to 15,000 TPD.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for project delivery from initiation through commissioning and handover, ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project objectives.
Engineering services will be provided by an external consulting engineering firm. The Owner's team will manage procurement, tendering, project controls, and construction management. Construction will be executed by multiple discipline-specific contractors. The Project Manager will lead and coordinate all project participants and drive project execution under an aggressive, fast-track schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, execution, commissioning, and closeout.
- Manage engineering consultant performance and deliverables.
- Oversee procurement, tendering, contract administration, and project controls.
- Coordinate construction activities performed by multiple contractors.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting systems.
- Manage stakeholder communications and executive reporting.
- Ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience managing major mining, mineral processing, industrial, or heavy construction projects.
- Demonstrated success delivering large capital projects from planning through commissioning.
- Experience managing engineering consultants, contractors, procurement, and construction activities.
- Strong leadership, commercial, and project execution capabilities.
- Experience with brownfield expansions and operating mine sites is preferred.
