State Farm’s Digital Claims Platform is hiring a Software Engineer for Team CAVE.
The role supports and enhances customer-facing applications used during the claims process.
The engineer owns features end to end and helps ensure reliable production performance.
Hybrid work environment
- Qualified candidates must live near a listed hub location and work both from home and in the office.
- Hub locations are Bloomington, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Tempe, Arizona; and Dunwoody, Georgia.
- Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; sponsorship is not provided.
Responsibilities
- Design and build applications using industry-adopted languages and frameworks.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across the stack.
- Apply security, testing, product design, data design, and software engineering practices.
- Support product vision, exceptional user experience, code discoverability, and cross-team collaboration.
- Work on multiple stories or a single complex story in a fast-paced AWS Native and ROSA environment.
Required qualifications
- Fullstack frontend and backend experience.
- Experience with AWS Native or ROSA, TypeScript, Angular, and Java.
- Understanding of components, services, routing, state management, version control, CI/CD, and unit testing.
- Understanding of SQL, Linux, public cloud, and containers.
- Ability to collaborate across functions, communicate technical status, and own features through production support.
Additional skills
- Curiosity when investigating unfamiliar code and tracing problems end to end.
- Ownership of features from development through production support.
- Documentation-oriented approach to runbooks, decision records, and processes.
- Growth mindset and willingness to learn from code review and senior engineers.
Compensation
- Potential starting salary is $85,500–$98,000, based on skills, background, and experience.
- Potential yearly incentive pay is up to 14% of base salary.
- The high end of the starting salary range is limited to applicants with significant relevant experience.
