Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
Build and enhance microservices using Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus) and/or TypeScript (NestJS)
Deliver features end to end with minimal supervision
Participate in architecture and technical design discussions
Write clean, maintainable, testable, and well documented code
Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
Optimize application performance, database queries, and system scalability
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, DevOps, and Frontend Developers
Leverage modern AI development tools to improve productivity while maintaining high engineering standards

Requirements

Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot, Quarkus) and/or TypeScript (NestJS)
Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and distributed backend systems
Good understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and modern microservice architecture principles
Experience with relational databases, ORM frameworks, database design, and query optimization
Familiarity with gRPC, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
Experience implementing AI powered features and integrating LLM APIs
Experience developing or integrating AI agents and agentic workflows
Understanding of RAG, vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering
Proficiency with AI assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude
Writes clean, maintainable, well tested, and production ready code
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, containerization, and cloud native development
Understanding of performance optimization, scalability, observability, and monitoring

Job Overview

IT RUN is hiring a Mid Level Backend AI Agentic Developer for a fintech client. This is an opportunity to build high performance backend systems, contribute to modern cloud native architectures, and work in a collaborative engineering culture that embraces AI assisted software development.

Skills and Experience

Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot, Quarkus) and/or TypeScript (NestJS).
Proven ability to independently design, develop, and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and distributed backend systems.
Good understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and modern microservice architecture principles.
Experience with relational databases, ORM frameworks (JPA/Hibernate, TypeORM), database design, and query optimization.
Familiarity with gRPC, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar), and inter service communication patterns.
Experience implementing AI powered features, integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Gemini), and building intelligent backend services.
Experience developing or integrating AI agents, agentic workflows, and automation solutions using modern AI frameworks and tools.
Understanding of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, and AI orchestration concepts is a strong advantage.
Proficiency with AI assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar.
Writes clean, maintainable, well tested, and production ready code.
Troubleshoots production issues, performs root cause analysis, and proactively improves system reliability.
Participates in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural decision making.

Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or other regulated industries
