Overview
We are seeking an interior designer who can operate beyond aesthetics — someone who understands space, structure, and execution.
This role requires a designer who can collaborate closely with leadership, interpret direction, and contribute original ideas while ensuring designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with high-end residential standards.
1. Design Development
- Translate high-level concepts into detailed design proposals
- Develop layouts with strong spatial planning (not just furniture placement)
- Prepare mood boards, material palettes, and FF&E selections aligned with luxury positioning
2. Architectural Coordination
- Work alongside engineers and site teams to ensure feasibility of design ideas
- Understand and contribute to:
- Structural modifications
- Space reconfiguration
- GFA/BUA considerations (basic level understanding expected)
- Review drawings to ensure alignment between design intent and execution
3. Technical Deliverables
- Prepare:
- Concept layouts
- Detailed drawings (plans, elevations, sections)
- Joinery details (basic to intermediate level)
- Coordinate with draftsmen/3D teams for renders and walkthroughs
4. Site & Execution
- Visit sites regularly to ensure design is executed correctly
- Work closely with project manager and contractors
- Resolve on-site design challenges quickly and practically
5. Collaboration & Flexibility
- Work closely with founder to refine and evolve ideas
- Be open to direction while confidently contributing your own perspective
- Adapt quickly to changes without being rigid or overly theoretical
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience:
- 4–7 years in interior design (residential projects preferred)
- Education:
- Interior Design / Architecture background (Architecture exposure is a strong advantage)
- Strong understanding of:
- Space planning
- Materials and finishes
- Joinery basics
- Working knowledge of:
- AutoCAD (mandatory)
- SketchUp / 3ds Max / similar
- Basic understanding of construction drawings
What We’re NOT Looking For
- Pure “styling” or furniture-focused designers
- Candidates who cannot translate ideas into drawings
- Designers who are rigid, overly theoretical, or difficult to collaborate with
