MEP Engineer

Job summary

Design and coordination

• Design HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
• Coordinate MEP designs with architects and structural engineers.
• Select equipment, components, and materials based on efficiency, performance, cost, and sustainability.
• Incorporate energy-efficient lighting, HVAC controls, and renewable energy systems.

Construction and compliance

• Review shop drawings, conduct site inspections, and resolve MEP-related construction issues.
• Manage testing, balancing, and commissioning before occupancy.
• Ensure compliance with building, fire safety, electrical safety, and plumbing codes.
• Maintain complete MEP design and project correspondence records.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Knowledge and skills

• Knowledge of MEP materials, site activities, and MEP submittals.
• Knowledge of local authority regulations, applicable standards, and the local market.
• Knowledge of MEP equipment testing and commissioning.
• Basic MS Word and MS Excel skills are required.
• SAP knowledge is preferred.

Experience and education

• At least five years of working experience, including three years of relevant experience.
• GCC experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or AutoCAD capability.
