MEP Design Phase Manager I

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience

Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, preferably experience with a Mechanical, Electrical Contractor, or a Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing engineering firm

Minimum of five years estimating or on-site project management experience in construction or 5 years experience designing or project management at an engineering firm.

Thorough knowledge of building Codes and their application in design and construction including, but not limited to, IBC, NFPA's, IMC, IFC, UFC, Energy Codes or the ability to read and understand them.

Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing abilities internally and externally at all levels of the organization

Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, initiative and teamwork skills

Computer skills in Microsoft Office

Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems

Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, scheduling and cost control procedures, drawings and specifications, and required standards

Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

Ability to travel up to 50%

The base pay range for this role is $113,500 - $170,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.

This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
