Role Overview
Lead technical delivery for a team through hands-on coding, architecture alignment, and improvements to quality and operations.
Design and ship backend capabilities while partnering on requirements and technical trade-offs.
Help the team deliver reliably in production.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and review features and APIs for services, integrations, and data access.
- Own reliability for services, including correctness, performance, observability, and safe releases.
- Improve database schemas, caching, deployment, and operational runbooks.
- Partner with product and engineering teams on requirements, estimates, and technical trade-offs.
- Review code, clarify designs, and mentor engineers informally.
- Drive clearer contracts, better tests, CI/CD hygiene, and reduced operational toil.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for onboarding and operations.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years shipping production backend services in Java, such as Spring Boot, or an equivalent JVM stack.
- Experience with REST APIs, validation, authentication integration, and common Spring patterns.
- Solid PostgreSQL experience with schema design, migrations, indexing, transactions, and slow-query debugging.
