Position Overview
Medical Virtual Assistant supporting the operational health of a busy healthcare clinic.
The role requires proactive ownership of administrative and billing workflows with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will build a trusted working relationship with the provider and care team.
Insurance and Billing
- Verify patient insurance after check-in and maintain accurate documentation.
- Review denied claims, identify denial reasons, assist with reprocessing, and prevent repeat errors.
- Process EOB documents and help clear billing and insurance backlogs.
- Resolve outstanding insurance balances and patient account issues.
- Support Cigna and Veterans Affairs claims workflows.
Clinic Operations
- Coordinate vendor payments, including check payments when needed.
- Monitor SOAP note completion, accuracy, and compliance.
- Track missed appointments, canceled appointments, and scheduling trends.
- Prepare reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlogs, denied claims, and operational metrics.
- Coordinate communication among the provider, care team, and administrative staff.
