- Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Schedule and manage appointments using electronic systems or appointment books
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff
- Register new patients, collect necessary information, and verify insurance details
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Process billing and handle payments, including co payments and outstanding balances
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and address scheduling conflicts
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and sorting documents
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
- Optimize provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
- Notify providers of patient arrivals
- Maintain office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders
Requirements
- Previous experience in Medical receptionist role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using office software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Customer service oriented attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure
