The CT & Angio department at the Royal Alexandra Hospital is a fast-paced and busy environment providing support to Trauma Services, Thoracic Surgery, ICU, and several other programs. Patients come through the Emergency Department, Inpatient units, and outpatient referral. As the ideal candidate, you will have demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. You possess strong judgment and decision-making abilities along with keen attention to detail and accuracy in your work. You have experience handling procedures such as drains and biopsies as well as working with trauma patients. You thrive in high-pressure environments with shifting priorities and are committed to continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills in the field. Collaboration is essential, and you must be able to work effectively with various healthcare disciplines, fostering respect and partnership.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
New grads in MRT (R) & MRT (NM) are welcome to apply. Cross-sectional anatomy courses in progress or completed. Work experience in Computed Tomography and Interventional Radiology in Trauma Services, Thoracic Surgery, ICU, inpatient programs, and outpatient referrals. This role requires flexibility, including availability for all shifts—days, weekends, evenings, nights, and after-hours on-call. Additionally, you must be capable of performing all physical components of the job, such as pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting, carrying, or transferring patients and supplies over 50 lbs. The position also requires wearing lead aprons for extended periods, up to a minimum of 6.75 hours.
