Responsibilities
- Review inpatient medical records including discharge summaries, operative notes, lab reports, and physician documentation
- Assign accurate ICD 10 CM, ICD 10 PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Ensure coding compliance with DOH, DHA, and MOH guidelines
- Maintain accuracy and productivity standards
- Identify documentation gaps and raise physician queries when required
- Ensure proper DRG assignment and validate coding for reimbursement optimization
- Work closely with billing and AR teams to resolve coding related denials
- Participate in internal and external coding audits
- Stay updated with UAE payer regulations and coding updates
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, or related field
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in UAE Inpatient Coding
- Strong knowledge of DRG coding and UAE payer guidelines
- Familiarity with hospital information systems and EMR platforms
- Valid coding certification (CPC/CCS/CIC from AAPC or AHIMA)

Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail oriented and certified UAE IP Coder responsible for accurately reviewing and assigning medical codes for inpatient records in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations, payer guidelines, and international coding standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review inpatient medical records, including discharge summaries, operative notes, lab reports, and physician documentation.
- Assign accurate ICD 10 CM, ICD 10 PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes as applicable.
- Ensure coding compliance with DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi), DHA (Dubai Health Authority), and MOH (Ministry of Health UAE) guidelines.
- Maintain accuracy and productivity standards as defined by the organization.
- Identify documentation gaps and raise physician queries when required.
- Ensure proper DRG assignment and validate coding for reimbursement optimization.
- Work closely with billing and AR teams to resolve coding related denials.
- Participate in internal and external coding audits.
- Stay updated with UAE payer regulations and coding updates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, or related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in UAE Inpatient Coding.
- Strong knowledge of DRG coding and UAE payer guidelines.
- Familiarity with hospital information systems and EMR platforms.
Certifications (Preferred/Required)
- CPC / CCS / CIC certification (AAPC or AHIMA preferred).
- Valid coding certification is mandatory.
Skills Required

- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
