About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Medical Coder to join our healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The role involves reviewing medical records, assigning accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and supporting insurance pre-authorizations and claims processing.

Responsibilities
- Review outpatient consultation notes, diagnoses, procedures, investigations, and treatment plans for completeness and accuracy
- Identify documentation gaps, inconsistencies, missing diagnoses, and unclear physician notes
- Communicate with physicians and clinical staff to obtain documentation clarification and complete medical records
- Issue compliant clinical documentation queries when required
- Assign accurate ICD 10, CPT, and other applicable coding classifications
- Verify medical necessity and ensure documentation supports coding and billing requirements
- Review insurance eligibility, coverage limitations, exclusions, and authorization requirements
- Prepare and submit prior authorization requests with supporting clinical documentation
- Follow up on pending approvals and insurance requests
- Support claims submission by ensuring records are complete, accurate, and compliant
Requirements
- Minimum 2 5 years of Medical Coding experience in Abu Dhabi
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Health Information Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy, or another healthcare related field
- Valid AAPC or AHIMA Certification (mandatory)
- Experience in insurance pre authorizations, claims processing, Tasneef Audits, KPI Monitoring, and DOH Audits
- Strong knowledge of ICD 10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Excellent understanding of DOH coding standards and UAE healthcare regulations
- Ability to review medical records and assign accurate codes
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance
- Good communication and documentation skills
