Selected Intern's Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design parts, multi-part assemblies, and electronics enclosures using Fusion 360 or SolidWorks within manufacturing and 3D-printing constraints.
- Implement ROS node-based communication, integrate sensors, and apply SLAM algorithms for spatial awareness and robot navigation.
- Analyze component datasheets, compare sensors, evaluate vendor lead times and landed costs, order samples, and manage supplier sourcing.
- Assemble prototypes, handle PCB wiring and battery safety systems, perform basic soldering, and troubleshoot fitment or subsystem failures.
- Coordinate between hardware fabrication and software or firmware teams, align technical specifications, and document system changes.
