About the role
Develop electronics, embedded systems, electrical, and automation solutions for custom products and multidisciplinary projects.
Work on automated installations, kinetic sculptures, moving artworks, and products combining mechanical design, electronics, firmware, and fabrication.
Take responsibility from initial concept through prototyping, production, installation, testing, and final handover.
Key responsibilities
- Develop electronic and automation systems for custom products, moving sculptures, and interactive installations.
- Program and integrate ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and similar controllers.
- Develop, test, and troubleshoot firmware.
- Select sensors, motors, actuators, controllers, and power supplies.
- Prepare block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and component schedules.
- Build, wire, test, and commission prototypes and final systems.
- Design systems that support maintenance, upgrades, and OTA updates.
- Coordinate with PCB designers, manufacturers, suppliers, programmers, and subcontractors.
- Integrate electronic systems with mechanical and fabricated components.
- Maintain firmware files, technical documents, and system records.
- Support installation and troubleshooting at project sites.
- Manage assigned projects from concept through final handover.
Required skills
- Knowledge of electronics, embedded systems, and automation.
- Experience with ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms.
- Strong microcontroller and firmware-programming skills.
- Knowledge of sensors, motors, actuators, relays, and motor drivers.
- Ability to prepare wiring diagrams, schematics, and system architecture.
- Understanding of PCB design and manufacturing processes.
- Practical wiring, soldering, testing, and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of 3D modelling or CAD software.
Preferred experience
- Kinetic sculptures, moving installations, interactive artworks, or exhibits.
- Robotics, motion-control systems, stepper motors, servo motors, linear actuators, or variable-frequency drives.
- IoT devices, remote monitoring, MQTT, cloud-connected devices, dashboards, or mobile-app integration.
- OTA firmware deployment, device fleet management, custom PCB development, or external PCB-manufacturer coordination.
- Computer vision, edge AI, machine learning, AI-integrated hardware, product prototyping, or fabrication.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in embedded systems, automation, robotics, or product development is required.
- Able to research, plan, and execute technical solutions independently.
- Able to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Good communication and technical documentation skills.
- Willing to support prototyping, workshop testing, and site installation.
- Based in the UAE or willing to relocate to Dubai.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 6,000 to AED 7,000 per month.
