About Cory Group
Cory Group operates the Riverside Energy from Waste facility, comprising Riverside 1 and 2, five process lines and two steam turbine generators.
The facility processes around 1.5 million tonnes of non-recyclable waste each year.
Role overview
The Mechanical Technician is based at the Riverside Energy from Waste facility.
The role supports the daily operation and smooth running of the facility through mechanical maintenance and operational duties.
The role operates under the direction of the Lead Mechanical Technician.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and facilitate mechanical maintenance and repair of plant and equipment across the site.
- Ensure duties comply with current legislation, including HASWA, LOLER, PSSR and PUWER.
- Manage contractors and organise planned and reactive maintenance.
- Assist in developing maintenance strategies.
- Perform fault finding and technical diagnosis for system and equipment fault rectification.
- Identify maintenance problems and equipment failure frequency rates.
Required experience and knowledge
- HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Working knowledge of applicable health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Experience using computerised maintenance management systems.
- Experience in an Energy from Waste or similar heavy process industry.
- Previous experience managing contractors.
Working pattern
- Hours are worked on a staggered day shift.
- One weekend in four is rostered.
