Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality documentation appropriate for its intended audience
- Work with internal teams on products and documentation requirements
- Work with internal teams in our manufacturing facility and office to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
- Interpreting engineering drawings, parts diagrams, Bill of Material (BOM) or CAD documentation.
- Develop and support technical governance and strategy documentation related to the program, including policies, frameworks, standards, guidelines, and procedures
- Ensure that engineering documentation and communications follow established writing rules, company standards, and legal requirements.
- Perform copy/edit and provide suggestions for improving structure, presentation, and delivery of content to end-users to resolve information gaps and inconsistencies.
- Create and update technical illustrations, graphics, and job aids as needed.
- Ensure document content is accurate, concise, and consistent within and across documents.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post secondary diploma or degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communications, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design Technology
- Or a combination of experience technical education and demonstrated experience developing documentation for industrial equipment, manufacturing, hydraulics, and drilling equipment parts.
- Minimum of three to five years of technical illustrator or technical writer experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Previous experience as a technical writer for an industrial manufacturer is an asset.
- Highly motivated and able to work and produce results independently.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, FrameMaker and Acrobat, and Microsoft Suite (Word and Excel)
- Strong analytical skills.
