Workplace and department
- The position is based in Chennai.

Inspection responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined and fabricated parts, weldments, and subsystem assemblies.
- Use engineering drawings and GD&T for dimensional checks with precision instruments.
- Inspect surface finish, flatness, hole alignment, concentricity, runout, and thread parameters.
- Verify welding quality, material conformance, and structural integrity.
- Check assembly fitment, alignment, movement clearances, and fastener torques.
Quality documentation and collaboration
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming items.
- Generate inspection reports and NCRs and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Work with production and design teams to resolve quality issues in real time.
- Maintain inspection tools, calibration records, and quality documentation.
- Follow ISO standards, safety norms, and company quality policies.
Required qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Degree holders are stated to require at least 5 years of overall experience, while diploma holders are stated to require 7 or more years.
- The role also states 3–6 years of hands-on experience inspecting machined, fabricated, and assembled mechanical parts.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, surface finish specifications, welding standards, and assembly techniques.
- Proficiency with micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, surface testers, and bore gauges.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
Preferred skills and certifications
- NDT Level I/II certification, including ASNT VPT, MPT, or UT, is a plus.
- Experience with manual or CNC CMM and digital inspection tools is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of NDT, welding symbols, and ASME, AWS, or IS fabrication standards is preferred.
- Exposure to ERP or QMS systems for inspection tracking and reporting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma principles is a plus.
Compensation
- Pay is ₹300,000–₹600,000 per year.
