Mechanical Engineering Technician

Run and support Kaizen events that improve Availability, First-Pass Yield, and Throughput.

Work with engineers to identify and remove bottlenecks on the line and document durable countermeasures.

Design, build, and fit simple fixtures and production aids; use shop tools and basic fabrication as needed.

Use internal tools to diagnose product and equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and communicate corrective actions.

Draft and update Manufacturing Instructions and assist with training operators and other technicians.

Pull and analyze production data to spot patterns and propose solutions using Excel and, where helpful, Python, SQL, Minitab, or JMP.

Support FAT/SAT mechanically: instrument stations, run acceptance tests, log results in MES, and help release equipment to production.

Perform precision metrology and basic preventive maintenance to protect rate and quality.

Hands-on experience with hand and power tools and mechanical assembly, including fasteners, fits, torque methods, and alignment.

Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics; basic electro-mechanical skills are a plus (low-voltage sensors, harness repair, DMM use).

Ability to read prints, GD&T, and schematics; comfortable interpreting 3D CAD. Experience with SolidWorks or similar is preferred.

Exposure to fabrication or prototyping is helpful (machining basics, 3D printing, laser cutting).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using data tools to support decisions.

Clear written and verbal communication; willingness to follow and improve SWIs and safety procedures (LOTO, cranes/rigging, forklifts).

Ability to travel, including internationally during early equipment builds and SAT, as needed.
