Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of precision mechanical components, assemblies, and systems supporting optical, electro- optical, and infrared products.

This position collaborates closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to develop innovative products from concept through production while ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

The Mechanical Engineer supports New Product Introduction (NPI), production improvements, engineering change management, and continuous improvement initiatives in a precision manufacturing environment

• Design and develop precision mechanical components and assemblies for optical and electro-optical systems using Creo Parametric and/or SolidWorks.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions from concept through production release.
• Perform mechanical design calculations, tolerance stack analyses, and engineering evaluations to ensure product performance and reliability.
• Generate detailed engineering drawings utilizing GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Create complete manufacturing documentation, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering specifications.
• Support design reviews and present technical solutions to engineering leadership.

• Lead or support New Product Introduction activities from prototype through production.
• Design and build functional prototypes utilizing 3D printing, machining, and rapid prototyping techniques.
• Support prototype testing, evaluation, and design validation.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering during pilot builds and production transfer activities.
