Role Overview
Clark Dietz is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work in our Central Indiana MEP Team. The MEP Team serves public sector clients with planning and design for architectural and municipal infrastructure projects. Projects include the design of HVAC, plumbing & fire protection for residence halls, offices, police & fire stations, and water & wastewater treatment plants.
This position may be based out of our Indianapolis office but will involve travelling to local project sites as needed.
Creates drawings, plan sheets and models following the company’s design standards and utilizes the designated CAD or modeling software.
Executes planning and design tasks including computations, analysis and modeling for facility rehabilitations
Conducts site visits to assess the specification of mechanical equipment for public facilities, utilities and industrial applications.
Assists in the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Applies engineering principles, applicable standards (ASHRAE, NFP, Etc.) and building and industrial codes to develop and evaluate solutions.
Coordinates project tasks with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience with EI/EIT certification preferred
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite required and Load 3D to assist with load calculation software or energy modeling tools a plus
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to draft reports and present ideas in a logical, grammatically correct manner
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to local project sites
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary range: $77,000 - $86,500+ hiring bonus + annual performance bonus.
