Mechanical Engineer Intern

Lunar Outpost Oceania is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our fast-paced, dynamic team.

In this role, you will design and develop mechanical systems for spacecraft and associated technologies.

Your work will contribute to groundbreaking projects in lunar mobility and in-situ resource utilisation.

During this 12 week internship, you will be required to work on a full time basis onsite in Burnley.

Applicants must have full, unrestricted working rights for Australia.

As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will:

• Collaborate on 3D modelling using CAD software.
• Ensure designs meet technical specifications.
• Assist to build prototypes and testing components.
• Analyse test data and recommend design improvements.
• Maintain detailed records of design changes and test results.
• Update engineering drawings and specifications.
• Work closely with electrical engineers and software developers.
• Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
• Identify and address design and manufacturing challenges.
• Select materials suitable for lunar conditions.
• Implement quality control measures for manufactured parts.
• Contribute effectively to team objectives.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all stages of work.
