• Position Summary
• At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our work enables customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As a Mechanical Engineer III, you will be part of Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, drive cost reduction strategies focusing on vibration and structural dynamics, acoustics, and noise control of our scientific instruments.
• Key Responsibilities
• Design and optimize mechanical systems and assemblies with emphasis on vibration control, structural dynamics, and acoustic performance for high-precision scientific instruments.
• Perform vibration, structural dynamics, and acoustic analyses to optimize system performance using FEA tools.
• Design noise reduction and damping solutions using appropriate materials and engineering techniques.
• Support system integration and ensure mechanical designs meet performance, quality, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
• Vibration/acoustic troubleshooting, including environmental/floor vibration and airborne excitation, experimental characterization, and correlation of measurements with analytical/FEA models
