Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer III will support Value Analysis and Value Engineering initiatives for scientific instruments.
The role focuses on cost reduction through vibration, structural dynamics, acoustics, and noise-control engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize mechanical systems for vibration control, structural dynamics, and acoustic performance.
- Perform FEA-based vibration, structural dynamics, and acoustic analyses.
- Develop noise-reduction and damping solutions and support system integration.
- Troubleshoot vibration and acoustic issues and correlate experimental measurements with analytical models.
- Lead VAVE initiatives and identify design, material, component, and manufacturing improvements.
- Provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and support reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA, and engineering changes.
