Position Summary
Mechanical Engineer III role supporting Value Analysis and Value Engineering initiatives for scientific instruments.
The role focuses on cost reduction through vibration, structural dynamics, acoustics, and noise-control engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize mechanical systems and assemblies for vibration control, structural dynamics, and acoustic performance.
- Perform vibration, structural dynamics, and acoustic analyses using FEA tools.
- Design noise-reduction and damping solutions.
- Support system integration and mechanical performance, quality, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot vibration and acoustic issues using experiments and analytical or FEA model correlation.
- Lead VAVE initiatives and identify design, material, component, and manufacturing improvements.
