Role overview
Hatch is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Hydropower and Dams team in Niagara Falls.
The role supports and executes hydro and dam projects while ensuring technical excellence within a multidisciplinary team.
Projects serve hydropower and dam owners in Ontario, across Canada, and globally.
Responsibilities
- Perform system analyses, establish requirements, define design criteria, and provide design input.
- Lead engineering commitments within scope, schedule, budget, and project procedures.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines and own high-level technical deliverables.
- Develop designs and oversee mechanical drawings and construction specifications.
- Participate in design reviews and calculation checks.
- Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and quality assurance to engineers and designers.
- Manage engineering work packages, project budgets, and schedules.
- Prepare, review, or approve designs, specifications, data sheets, calculations, reports, estimates, and design criteria.
- Provide input to models and drawings, assist with site commissioning, and follow quality procedures.
- Prepare or contribute to proposals in the area of expertise.
