We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer to join Lexington Medical's R&D team in Bedford, MA. Ideal for engineers with 0–2 years of experience who want broad ownership and exposure to the full product development lifecycle.
Join a hands-on mechanical engineering team developing precision surgical stapling devices across three specialized groups:
Reloads – Cartridge mechanisms, staple formation/geometry, firing sequences, and tissue compression
Manual Handle – Linkages, gear trains, force transfer, ergonomics, and DFM for manual handle platforms

Power Handle – Motorized systems integrating mechatronics, motors, sensors, and electronics
Placement is based on experience and interest. Across all three teams, you will design components and assemblies, build and test prototypes, iterate rapidly, and support design transfer to manufacturing.
Within the first 3–6 months, you are independently designing and testing components that feed directly into active product programs.
Within the first year, your designs have shipped to manufacturing and supported procedures in the operating room.
You are known for strong engineering judgment, bias toward action, and thoughtful collaboration across disciplines.
