Role Overview
SSOE's Advanced Technology division provides multidisciplinary design and engineering services for high-tech facilities.
The role supports design of industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for major high-tech clients.
The posting describes the position as a mid-level Mechanical Designer, while the source title is Mechanical Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Produce technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligned with project requirements and client expectations.
- Create and maintain Revit models for piping, plumbing, exhaust, and associated mechanical building systems.
- Produce construction documents, mechanical plans, equipment schedules, and system diagrams using Revit.
- Participate in BIM coordination, multidisciplinary clash detection, and resolution using Navisworks.
- Maintain BIM model quality according to project BIM execution plans, Revit standards, and modeling best practices.
- Design piping, plumbing, HVAC ducting, chillers, boilers, exhaust, motor control, process chemicals, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with design teams, engineers, project managers, stakeholders, and other disciplines to resolve design challenges.
- Coordinate Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, and other disciplines for complete design packages.
