About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration to lead design activities from concept to IFC. You will work on complex refrigeration systems for industrial, commercial, and recreational projects, utilizing Revit MEP and BIM workflows.

Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical and refrigeration design for industrial, recreational, and commercial refrigeration systems.
- Produce and verify system specifications, block flow diagrams, layouts, P&IDs, and design review packages.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations including heat load, HVAC, thermal analysis, pipe stress, vibration, seismic, and equipment support design.
- Manage BIM workflows in line with ISO 19650, BS 1192, PAS 1192 5 and coordinate LOD/LOd requirements.
- Conduct clash detection, materials handling planning, BOQ/BOM development, and value engineering for IFC submissions.
- Select and approve equipment, coordinate with internal teams, and incorporate design review comments.
- Prepare O&M manuals and support sustainability, ERP, and lifecycle documentation.
- Provide guidance, check work from other designers, and support the development of design standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years' experience in mechanical or refrigeration design
- Strong capability with Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Microsoft Office
- Deep understanding of refrigeration design, heat transfer, and equipment function
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans with precision
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

What You'll Be Doing
- Leading mechanical and refrigeration design for industrial refrigeration (cold storage, food processing, bottling, distribution, oil & gas cooling/compression), recreational refrigeration (snow parks, ice rinks, ice walls), commercial refrigeration racks (reach ins, freezers, display cabinets), and
- Producing and verifying system specifications, block flow diagrams, layouts, P&IDs, and design review packages.
- Performing detailed engineering calculations including heat load, HVAC, thermal analysis, pipe stress, vibration, seismic, and equipment support design.
