Job Summary
Develop and modify freight and special-purpose container designs involving structural fabrication and sheet-metal engineering.
Prepare manufacturing drawings, perform basic structural calculations, and coordinate with production, fabrication, quality, procurement, and vendors.
Design and Documentation
- Design and develop ISO freight containers, special-purpose containers, and fabricated structures.
- Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
- Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, part drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Maintain engineering documentation, revision control, and design records.
Engineering and Production Support
- Ensure designs comply with ISO container standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
- Perform basic structural calculations, load checks, and design verification for container components.
- Work with production and fabrication teams to resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Coordinate with welding, fabrication, quality, procurement, and vendors.
- Support prototype development, inspection, testing, and design validation.
