About the Role
Novelis seeks a Mechanical Day Technician at its Latchford, Warrington plant to attend to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure plant safety.

Responsibilities
- Attend to breakdowns throughout the day, ensuring the plant is down for the least time possible
- Ensure all PMs allocated are done and followed up with any feedback to the engineering planner
- Ensure the correct escalation process is followed in the event of an out of hours problem
- Follow up problems and develop solutions in cooperation with the Lead Engineer
- Make sure that all safety regulations are met whilst work is undertaken, and ensure equipment is made safe for use
Requirements
- A level education, ONC or HNC/D diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of working experience in a similar position in a heavy industry environment
- Familiar with all aspects of pneumatics and hydraulics and good fault finding attributes
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environment
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, Outlook
- Working knowledge of gas burners would be an additional advantage
