We are recruiting a Mechanical Assembly Engineer to join our site in Wortley, Leeds on a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract.
CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMbE) designs, develops, and manufactures high-performance metal forming and finishing machinery for the production of beverage, food, and aerosol cans. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and testing machinery and can making equipment using engineering drawings, machine build books and SOPs to produce quality work to the required standard.
The ideal candidate will have experience participating in non-conformance investigations, and in documenting relevant data. They will ensure compliance with stock control procedures and actively contribute to cost-saving initiatives while providing constructive feedback to the improvement team.
As part of the role, caniddates must be able to prioritise workload whilst remaining calm under pressure. They will have strong problem-solving, mechanical and technical skills and possess the ability to work autonomously. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a high quality of work, adaptability, make sound judgements and take initiative.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within the Assembly and in testing Original Equipment Manufacturer machinery. The candidate must hold a minimum of a level 3 apprenticeship in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
