- As a Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including assembly, testing, fabrication, and inspection of products in both standard and non-standard environments. Your role is crucial in maintaining the flow of work and ensuring high-quality output.
- What will you do:
- Blueprint Reading and Interpretation:
- Read, interpret, and follow work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Utilize written instructions to accurately complete assembly tasks.
- Tool Operation:
- Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment efficiently and safely.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an organized inventory of products in workstations, ensuring all necessary materials are available and accounted for.
- Quality Control:
- Perform quality checks on work performed, identifying and recording any product defects.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Safety and Cleanliness:
- Always adhere to quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area to ensure a productive work environment.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Capable of working in a standing position for up to 8 hours per day.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Proficient in the use of various hand and power tools.
- Attention to Detail:
- Keen eye for detail to identify defects and ensure high-quality assembly.
- Precision in following engineering specifications and instructions.
- Problem-Solving:
- Ability to troubleshoot and rework products as needed to meet quality standards.
- Physical Stamina:
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Safety Awareness:
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following safety protocols.
- Work Environment:
- This role involves working in environments that may vary from standard to non-standard conditions. It requires adherence to safety procedures and the ability to adapt to different working conditions.
- Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
