Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Training Requirements: Experience in tutoring and/or teaching at the college level; Equivalent combinations of experience and education may also receive consideration; Minimum GPA of 3.0; Instructor recommendation; Peer tutors must be enrolled in at least six credits; Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to understand and respond to oral and written instructions and ideas; Ability to interpret, apply and communicate discipline concepts; Effective time management and organizational skills; Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with colleagues, faculty, staff and students; Ability to meet deadlines; Knowledge of tutoring concepts and their applications; Ability to select and implement tutoring strategies, methods, and procedures based on student needs; Ability to observe and accurately assess and respond to student needs; Must have proficient computer skills, including MS Office suite, advanced information technology skills, and knowledge of instructional technology.
